Restorative Yoga and Yoga Massage
Restorative Yoga is a meditativ and renewing way to do yoga. I use props to support your body into comfortable yoga poses. When the pose is achieved your body is prepared for deep relaxation. I will give a mindfulbased "body scanning" to maintain a meditativ state of mind. Similar to Yoga Massage, Restorative Yoga also has its outspring from Iyengar-traditions. Opposite to Yoga Massage there is no touch in Restorative Yoga. One of the reasons to practise Restorative Yoga is to experience full realxation, a deep and restorative rest. I highly recommend restorative yoga for anyone that have back issues or other painful conditions.
Yoga Massage is also called Ayurvedic Massage. It is all about finding "space" within the body and to discover the range of movements in slow and confortable manners. I performe yogamassage on a madrass or seated. I will be useing covering techniques. To massage and warm up the muscles in preparation for the Yoga poses I use oil or oily cream. I assist eighter by pulling, holding or supporting your body with my own streght and bodyweight. In some positions I am massageing a spesific muscle when it is already streched out. I always focus on alignment and breth during the session. The goal with Yogamassage is to achieve a lovely feeling of wellbeing. It is therapautic, in that way that it can treat painful conditions in the back or in other limbs.
Kusum Modak from India combined traditional Deep Tissue Massage and Yoga Therapies based on Iyengar Yoga form. My teachers are Vandana Jain and Johan Praful. Vandana was Kusum Modaks student. Kusum was a student of Iyengar himself.
